Farzana is a published author on organizational training and culture, as well as a frequently requested speaker on DEI, race, unconscious bias, leadership, culture, and identity. Her recognized expertise on multiracial topics will be shared in her upcoming book, Raising Multiracial Children: Tools for Nurturing Identity in a Racialized World, published and distributed by North Atlantic Books/Penguin Random House in April, 2020.
Advisory work with Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), small business advocacy, and entrepreneurship has taken Farzana to engagements across North America, from the White House to Silicon Valley. Her subject matter expertise on global community relations is recognized in partnerships with institutions like the Smithsonian and the East-West Center. National leadership positions have included serving as National Director of ERG Relations for the National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP) and Board Director for the Society of Intercultural Education, Training, and Research (SIETAR) USA.
Farzana has shared her expertise in media outlets such as Forbes, DiversityInc, NPR, LAParent and the LA Times. She is a qualified administrator for the Intercultural Development Inventory®, an executive and personal development coach, and has been a member of adjunct faculty with the UBC Centre for Intercultural Communication for over 10 years and coaching faculty for The Forum on Workplace Inclusion and Diversity Woman.
Farzana is based in Los Angeles, California, with a global upbringing including ties to South and Southeast Asia, and Canada. Of multiethnic Filipinx-Pakistani heritage, she is a long-time advocate for the multiracial community and is the parent of two children.

Farzana delivered the keynote address for the annual conference of the Publishing Professionals Network. She spoke with passion and eloquence about the need for more diversity in book publishing--an industry that, she argued, can have an outsized effect on national conversations around racial, gender, and economic privilege. Grounding her insights in both hard data and the personal experiences of herself and other authors of color, she held our 160 attendees in rapt attention: audience members reported being touched, called to action, even brought to tears by her speech. During a roundtable discussion following the address, Farzana challenged us to look for opportunities to further diversity and inclusion in our own workplaces and on our own publishing lists.
